Nara Ceramic Clay - Stone - 1.1 lb (500 g)
Description
Nara Ceramic Clay is heavyweight modeling material that comes from the earth. Ceramic clay generally dries up within 24 hours in an open air, normal temperature setting without shrinking or bending. The finished product can be painted and varnished. To get porcelain, it must be fired at 1,100 - 1,300°C ( or 2,012 - 2,192°F ).
Ceramic clay will dry out if it is left out in the air. To reactivate the clay, just add water to moisten the dry section and resume constructing masterpiece. Nara Ceramic clay needs to be kept in airtight storage container in order to remain soft and not dry out. Its shelf life is approximately 1.5 years.
Store unfinished pieces in an airtight bag wrapped with a damp cloth. Keep unused clay in an airtight container. When drying, rotate pieces so all sides get even exposure to the air. Dry times depend on thickness, size, and surrounding environmental condtions. Typically pieces are ready to decorate in 24 hours and fully cured in 48 to 72 hours.
