My name is Steve Katz, I am the President of Office Central Inc. In 2008, my brother and I decided to fly from Vancouver to Prince George British Columbia to visit a fellow Office Products buying group member. The breathtaking view of the mountains, trees, lakes and wildlife were memories that should last a lifetime. As the flight continued we started to see that the beautiful green trees were becoming sparse and only red trees were to be seen for hundreds of miles around. The red trees were all dead - they had been infected and killed by the Pine Beetle.
There are many reasons to ‘Go Green’. The pine beetle and its effect on our Canadian natural resources is just one. Many of us think about the future generations and the environment we leave for them. At Office Central we think about our children, our families and the importance of making the right choices in order to leave a lasting legacy for them. Office Central takes the ‘Green’ issue very seriously. We have included in our 2009 catalogue a ‘Green’ section where there is an assortment of office products that have a ‘Green’ element to them.
