Spring Blossom - GTA Activities

Hibernation season is officially over. Spring is here and with it, plenty of events to lure you off that couch. If — like the rest of us — you’ve been staying indoors a little too much as of late, let these springtime options inspire you.

Spring events in the GTA

For the family

If you’ve been waiting for the weather to warm before lacing up your skates, now is the time. The Shops at Don Mills skating rink is open until Thursday, March 31. Hit the rink Friday, March 25 between 7 and 9pm for the year’s last live DJ skate. If the early spring weather gives you a chill, stop by Teavana for a hand-warmer.

For the animal lover

Head to the Toronto Zoo for Connecting with Wildlife Conservation. The zoo is holding a special Easter weekend wildlife event from Friday, March 25 to Monday, March 28. Learn about animal conservation while visiting the gorillas and warm-climate pavilions.

For the gardener

If you’re a gardener, you’re counting down the days until spring thaw. Prepare yourself with the Scarborough Seedy Saturday and Green Fair on Saturday, April 2. Find heirloom and organic seeds, learn about sustainable gardening and exchange seedlings with other avid gardeners.

For the athlete

Ready, set, spring! Head to the Beaches in Toronto for the 29th annual Spring Sprint. Run or walk the 2k or 5k boardwalk course, starting at the Silverbirch Boat House.

For the foodie

“Un cafe, s’il vous plait.” Indulge in the city’s finest croissants and get your caffeine fix at Le Tour de Cafe coffee and pastry tour on Saturday, April 2. Explore Toronto’s Corktown and Riverside neighbourhoods by foot, while sampling some of the finest java this city has to offer.
